FAQs
Why do you require my dog to be spayed or neutered?
We understand that vets recommend waiting to spay or neuter your puppy, but there are pheromones produced by unfixed pups and dogs that can attract unwanted attention from other dogs in the park. Because dogs are off leash in the yard, this can lead to fights or trauma in young pups. For the safety of all dogs and especially young pups, we require all dogs in the yard to be fixed and hope you can understand.
Do you require vaccination records?
Yes we do. There are many canine diseases that are easily transmittable and can live in the environment for a long time. So to ensure your pups are protected and in an effort to stop the spread of diseases between pups we require your pups to be up to date on rabies and strongly recommend DHPP and Bordetella. Please plan to bring vaccination records or upload them in our portal if you register online ahead of time.
Why can’t I bring toys, food or treats inside the park?
With a yard full of dogs, we can’t guarantee there are no toy, food or treat aggressive dogs in the park. So for the safety of all dogs in our yard, we cannot allow any outside toys, treats or food inside of the off leash area. If you are working on training with your pup and need treats for positive rewards, you can ask the bartender for a handful of the same kibble our Rufferees use to redirect rambunctious pups.
Do you have people inside the park monitoring the dogs?
There are always Rufferees in the yard monitoring play to ensure all pups are having a safe and fun time. Our Rufferees are trained to read body language and other cues so they know when to step in before things escalate. The priority of Rufferees is to keep pups safe in the yard, so if you see your pup drop a deuce please help us focus on safety and pick up after them.
Why is no one under the age of 21 allowed in the yard?
We understand a lot of children are dog savvy, but unfortunately not all dogs are kid savvy. We would hate more than anything for a child to get knocked down and be injured, or for a dog in the yard to bite a child. Even if it wasn’t intentional, if reported, that is a bite record on a dog that was having fun or inexperienced with children. So for safety reasons, the yard is 21+ and babies will not be considered an exception.
Can I order food to eat at the park?
Absolutely! As long as the food does not enter the off leash area. We have picnic tables under a shaded area in front of the check-in window that you are more than welcome to eat at. If any food enters the park we will ask that you remove it immediately to avoid any risks for fights over your food and to make sure you eat it, not a pup! We also have a food truck out front that we highly encourage you to try!
